"en" is "in" and "y" is "to" but you can only use it in special situations... like "on y va" (here we go) and "il y a" (there is)

en is for places like countries (en france, en amerique) and for particular places... o:

it's "j'y vais" (aller > je vais, tu vas, il va...) for "i'm going" and, "je vais en" for "i'm going to".

You can use "y" only on few situations... I know it's hard to understand :q but y and en are different.

well thank you though. i understand it a little more. i just didnt get itwhen my teacher was talking about replacing direct objects and indirect objects...i have no idea what those are...and she didnt really explain it to me...:cries:
